Purpose:

To block MCP1 joint hyperextension (and IP joint if desired). 

Adjusting:

• If the palmar support protrudes into the thenar eminence on flexion of the MCP1 joint, slightly alter the angle of the support.

• Pinch the two supports proximal to the IP together to anchor the splint.
